Music Publishers of America (“MPA”) is pleased to announce the pre-release of Green Tea Blues, a four-song extended play digital album of original jazz compositions by singer-songwriter Steve Harris. Slated for official release on multiple digital music platforms later this month, fans now can instantly download the album from the MPA artists category on Vitak-Elsnic.com.
The album concept was developed during a 2019 visit by Harris to a green tea farm near Chiran, Japan, known around the world for its super-premium green tea production. “I love Japanese green tea,” Harris said, “and to me, the song title is a metaphor about Japan. When I sing about green tea blues, I’m alluding to missing the good things in Japan.” Harris is well-acquainted with the country, having worked with and visited many Japanese business clients for nearly twenty years.
Co-produced by Harris and Richmond-based music producer and musician Stewart Myers, the musical team includes well-known musicians Daniel Clarke on organ, Charles Arthur on guitar, John Kuhl on saxophone, Rusty Thomas on upright bass and John O’Reilly on drums.
