Vancouver-based Bridgefest has announced that Steve Harris’ original composition, Green Tea Blues, has been selected as a winner in the organization’s July 2021 music competition. Songs selected in the monthly competitions are entered in the annual competition for Song of the Year.
Green Tea Blues is the title song from Harris’ 2020 extended play album of original jazz compositions. This marks the fifth time in 2021 that Green Tea Blues has been singled out for recognition in music competitions in the U.S., Canada and Brazil. “I am obviously very pleased that the song has received such recognition,” Harris said. “But this was a team effort involving my producer, Stewart Myers, and some incredible musical talents on the instrumentals. They helped me bring this song, and the story it tells, to life.”
Bridgefest, which began operations in 2006, is a competition for filmmakers and musical composers. In 2020 and through the first half of 2021, it has received music and film submissions from artists in 67 countries around the world.
Green Tea Blues is available for download or streaming on all digital music platforms. Limited edition compact discs can be ordered directly from Harris’ website, steveharrismusic.com.
